New York State Independent Living Council
The New York State Independent Living Council, Inc. (NYSILC) is an independent, nonprofit state council. The NYSILC mission is to promote independent living for people with disabilities across New York State, in partnership with the network of community-based Centers for Independent Living (CILs). Open Doors Transition Center
Open Doors is funded by Money Follows the Person (MFP) to support people who would like to move out of an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), Developmental Center (DC), Children’s Residential Project (CRP), hospital, or nursing home. The program is coordinated by NYAIL through partner Independent Living Centers across New York State. The program has several components including Transition Assistance, Peer Support, Person Centered Planning Coaching and the Good Neighbor Program.
